I find it fitting Palu lives on a road called Powerhouse.
I'm in! I think I'm going to spend a few days in Sacramento chillin with my relatives, then drive up Sunday.
Out of curiousity, how cold is that water?

The water isnt that bad. It is cold if you go in slowly but if you just jump in it isnt that bad. (just dont stay in to long haha)
Alrighty Friends!
This is going to be one jam you will not want to miss. I can assure that if you love the natural aesthetics of the world around you, there is no place you will love more than Blue Streak for your natural training. I have been frequenting here for a little over two years now, and have always found it an inviting place--a place where I can clear my mind and concentrate on movement, efficiency, and most of all creativity. The whole area offers a great experience for the adventurous types, even if your parkour skills are at a newcomer level.
The river itself is iconic of flow, and as you hop from boulder to boulder, you can challenge yourself to maintain your route without getting wet; this is advanced hot lava. Aside from being trailed by colossal stones, there are also waterfalls that empty into deep indigo pools. Encompassing the lagoons are cliffs and trees. Increasing my ever growing interest, the mysterious underwater caves hidden beneath the surface.
For everyone interested in coming a day early, you are welcome to stay the night at my house, please PM me or call me if that is the case. That night, for those willing, Blue Streak is a great place to camp out at too! Perhaps those eager to stay another night would be down for that? My house on that night could be an option as well. If you are planning on staying bring the following: sleeping bag, snacks, sleeping pads are highly recommended, towel perhaps, and some good stories.
See everyone on the 28th!

Craaaaaaaap. We have a BCP Server failover exercise that weekend. Trying to see if I can do partial and get another to cover, but kinda doubt it since I'm the approver at the end. It's supposed to end late Sat night with Sunday in reserve for issues, so it'll be a game time decision.
Beretta if you don't go, maybe you and I can do a mini-Monthly in SF somewhere?
Definitely making all attempts to go though, will be renting a car even. Benny if I get a car you can ride with me.

Alrighty, so I was curious to see who was planning on coming down on Saturday. I'll be cooking spaghetti for everyone that'll be here. So a rough head count would be nice. Groovy.
On a side note, the water has gotten a lot warmer, and it has gotten a lot hotter up here (upwards of 95 degrees). Be sure to bring a towel, sunscreen, and lots of water!

We might get there late saturday night as Scott usually works until 10, but is going to switch to a 10-6 shift or so.

I'll be gone for the next 4 days. Please, if you have any questions call 1-209-728-7800. You can call and talk to me, or if you wish, you can also text this number. Awesome!

does anybody have a plan for what time the night spending people will actually be leaving for blue streak on sunday?
We'll Be leaving from the Murphys Park at 10:30 Sunday morning to head to Blue Streak. Please try and arrive around 10:00 if possible. The drive takes about two and a half hours from San Francisco at the most, and about two hours flat from Sac.
Use this Address. There is a big park and a large parking lot.
482 S Algiers Rd
Murphys, CA 95247
fyi. There will be minimal parkour Saturday. Primarily just some old lines from around town. The monthly is on Sunday and will be entirely in nature! Come out on Sunday if anything at all! Everyone is welcome to stay Saturday and/or Sunday night!

Bad news. I won't be able to make it out. I've been having car troubles that are not allowing me to drive very far (and I mean I can really only drive around town before my truck starts to overheat), and a ton of important stuff on Monday to take care of. Good luck to everyone going!

It'd be nice to get a final head count as the jam is almost upon us! I am very excited that there are a handful of natural enthusiasts out there making the trek! If you are coming please post saying so!
as a side note, it is very, very, very hot up here. Upwards of 95 degrees, and I will not be surprised if it is 100 tomorrow!

I'm one of the three people from the Sac crew. I'm not going to be coming up Saturday as planned though. I'll be coming up Sunday, and I'm bringing a friend along.
So the Sac crew will consist of Victor, Kevin, and Adroit coming up Saturday, and then myself and my friend coming up Sunday.

Just got back home from this epic weekend.
Unfortunately, it was so epic my camera couldn't handle all of it. I think some dust got in because in the beginning I got an error message, then promptly forgot about it. Still got a lot of cool footage, but there's a lot of unwanted jump cuts :(
Little recap:
Arrived Saturday, promptly went out to a stretch of the river near Candy Rock; basically, hundreds of boulders scattered around in refreshing water.
Spent the night under the stars.
Woke up, had some oatmeal and smoothies.
Went to the river.
Traversed our way downstream through the boulders
Arrived at Blue Streak, a stretch of the river with deep water, cliffjumping, and swimming galore.
Became astonished by Palu swimming under a rock.
Became scared of heights
Became suddenly claustrophobic in the Pirate Cave
Became sunburnt (not as bad as everyone thought, jeez)
Became the master of the 1.5 backflip
Many many thanks to Palu and his family for hosting and feeding us

Awesome weekend! Driving my truck on some crazy access roads, jumping and hiking down a beautiful river gorge filled with thousands and thousands of huge awesome rocks, and arriving at a picture perfect deep swim hole. The pool was at least 20ft deep, long and wide, had fresh water running thru it, several high rocks all around it, just beautiful. And the 40ft cliff jump was epic, I hope the video survived!
Alex's house is awesome and his folks let us camp out and fed us all and were also awesome. Zack hosted Victor, Derek, and I last night, and we hung out and acted goofy because we were all so tired.
Definitely wish more people made it out, you were missed.

I was sooo glad I attended this jam....definitely a highlight of the year for me. My feet were so sore after the whole day in my neoprene fivefingers...thanks again Victor! Those shoes were perfectly suited for the trail running, log jumping, boudler scrambling, cliff jumping, river/waterhole swimming, rock sliding adventure that I had. It is always great to get out of the city and into the woods where I really do feel more at home and peace. Twas an awesome day for me, thank you guys for hosting and sharing the beauty and extreme fun of you local spot!
And thanks to Alex and Zack for hosting this great day!
